Wright Community Center - is open in a limited capacity now, with covid guidelines, and  we are working very hard to organize and set up additional food support in our community as soon as possible. Both The Director, Board Members of the Wright Center and  REACH,  volunteers know how the situation is in our community.

Live Well Erie - Legislator Ed Rath Announces: Cares Act - RENT & MORTGAGE Assistance :
Funding - Up to $10 million in assistance - Assistance is available for up to 5 months worth of rental or mortgage arrears. The maximum benefit a household may receive is $3500. Program Eligibility - Applicants must meet the following criteria: 1). Household income under 85% of the New York State Median Income. 2). Erie County Resident 3). Loss or reduction in household income due to the COVID-19 pandemic 4). Proof of rent or mortgage obligation. How to Apply - Application period will open October 1, 2020 through November 15th, 2020. Applications are available online at www.211 wny.org or by calling 2-1-1. Required Documentation - Applicants must provide the following documentation: 1). Proof of Erie County Residency 2). Proof of Household Composition 3). Proof of Tenancy and monthly rent/mortgage amount 4). Proof of income for all household members 5). Proof of hardship due to COVID-19 6). Proof of rent/mortgage arrears since March 2020.

Residents Advocacy - Since 2019, I have helped all the tenants in our Mobile Home Park Communities, and Renters across NY State, with  Rent Cap Regulations, and co wrote the 3% Rent Cap Bill #5763 with Paul Bologna and Mike Norris,  and I am very proud to call Akron, My Home Town Community. I will continue to advocate to help you all in any way I can.

Rent Help during the Virus Update - Governor Como informed all renters of the rent forgiveness for 90 days.  Please  call your landlord, and discuss your personal situation, and ask for help and their understanding during this difficult time.

Hearts & Hands - offices not opened for the next 10 weeks. They are taking phone calls only for Medical and grocery trips, and they are also doing Friendly Phone Calls to Clients during this time.  All other businesses through phone calls only. Please call Tabitha directly.
